This coffee is grown by Luis Anibal Calderon in Acevedo, Huila. Don Luis decided to plant Gesha over four years ago. After planting Gesha, he decided to devote himself to specialty coffee having planted 20 different varietals on his farm.
Luis Anibal was taught by our partners how to process honeys and naturals. This year he aims to process 30% of his total production as honey and naturals.
To produce this Gesha microlot, cherries were picked following a strict criteria. Exposed to a dry fermentation of 15 hours with the pulp on and inside grain pro bags. Later the coffee is floated, hand sorted and placed on raised beds for twenty five days until ideal moisture content was achieved. When dried, this lot was stored in grainpro bags for three months and later milled, hand sorted and vacuum packed.
