NATURAL SIDAMA GR 4 Farm

The Story

16 Years of Partnership

This Grade 4 Sidama is our versatile workhorse—a blending component that brings authentic Ethiopian character at an accessible price point. While it carries a lower grade designation, this lot from the 500-member Sidamo Farmers Union delivers remarkable value and consistent quality that makes it ideal for blends or as an approachable single origin. Grade 4 in Ethiopian classification indicates slightly smaller screen size and potentially higher defect count than premium grades, but don't let that fool you. The farmers in this cooperative still practice selective harvesting and careful processing. Cherries undergo the same natural drying process on raised beds for 14-17 days, with regular turning and sorting to ensure even drying. What this coffee may lack in refinement, it makes up for in body and classic Ethiopian fruit character. It's a crowd-pleaser—approachable berry sweetness, gentle acidity, and a full body make it perfect for those new to Ethiopian naturals or as a foundational component in espresso blends. We've been sourcing this lot for 11 years because it delivers reliability and character at a price point that makes specialty Ethiopian coffee accessible to more roasters.
