Ethiopian community gathering water at a well funded by Keffa Coffee

Giving Back

Giving back at origin

When you work with Keffa, you're supporting more than great coffee. You're supporting the communities at origin.

Coffee isn't just a commodity. Behind every bag are families, communities, and lives. At Keffa, we've never forgotten that. When our partners face hardship, we show up. Not because it's good marketing, but because it's the right thing to do.

These are some of those moments.

When disaster struck our partners

A devastating flood and landslide tore through the communities where our Indonesian suppliers live and work. Houses were destroyed. A local school collapsed. Families lost everything.

When we heard, we didn't wait. We sent funds directly and coordinated on-the-ground support to help with immediate needs and rebuilding efforts.

These aren't just suppliers. They're partners. Their families matter to us.

Clean water for coffee communities

Through our partnership with Water to Thrive, we've built wells in the same Ethiopian communities where our coffee is grown.

These aren't distant charity projects. These are our neighbors. The families who collect water from these wells are the same families who harvest the coffee beans that become your roasts.

When you buy from Keffa, you're completing that circle.

A mother's fifth chance

During a trip to Ethiopia, Sam learned about a family facing an impossible situation. The mother had suffered four miscarriages. Her husband, a driver, worked hard but had no money for the specialized care she needed. At high elevation, her health complications made each pregnancy more dangerous than the last.

She was close to losing her fifth pregnancy.

Sam didn't know this family. They weren't suppliers or business contacts. But when he heard their story, he acted immediately. He covered the medical costs at Ethio-Istanbul General Hospital, ensuring she received the care she needed.

After five hours in surgery, the baby was born healthy.

Today, that child is almost a year old.

"I didn't even hesitate. It's not my family, but it's still humanity. This is our responsibility."
